This is a comfortable watch to wear because of its size and color. It is easy to read the time at a glance because the dial is not cluttered with subdials. The unidirectional bezel is very easy to turn without any breakin time. The bracelet is easy to adjust yourself because it has push pins and micro-adjustments in the diver’s clasp. You can not wind the watch at the crown because of the movement, but if you wear it daily; this is not an issue. For an automatic movement, my watch keeps pretty good time. It has a flame-fusion crystal which will reduce scratches.

Automatic Watches

Automatic watches donot operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Timex Ironman Men’s Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor Watch, Grey/Red, Full Size Review

I’ve had this heart rate monitor for about a month now and really like it. I wasn’t looking for something with every bell and whistle or the ability to download to a computer, just a basic but well built HRM. It has all of the basic features I need without being cluttered with features I don’t.

Form factor: The watch itself is a bit on the big/thick side but it feels very solid and well built. It also is styled like a classic Ironman watch, which I prefer to some of the Polar and Nike HRMs. Be aware that the strap is biased more towards fitting larger wrists, even though it is listed as Unisex. The strap from end to end is 10 1/2 inches long, so plenty of size to fit larger wrists, but women with smaller wrists may have trouble getting a snug fit even on the smallest loop. I share this with my wife and she has this issue. I suppose you could buy a smaller replacement strap if needed.

Set up: Pretty intuitive, though the manual could be more clear about how certain settings work (and the manual itself is tiny). Seeting up your weight, zones, etc is all done quickly and is much more straightforward than the Polar HRMs I have owned.

In use: The watch and transmitter sync up very quickly with little moisture needed to make the connection work. I like the big display and large numbers, its very easy to steal a quick glance and get all the information I need. You can swap the display so that whatever is most important to you is displayed in the largest numbers or have it so only your heart rate is showing. The review mode lets you go through your work out, with info like time in your zone, average HR, peak HR, min HR, and calories burned. The Indiglo light works great (with a button press) and is much better than their watches with the “flick” feature.

Other: Another feature I really like is that you can change the battery in the strap yourself, unlike Polar where you have to send it in or go to a dealer to get it changed. To be fair, the chest transmitter is a little bulky but I gladly trade the slightly larger transmitter for the ability to change the battery myself.

All in all, I give the watch 4.5/5 but chose 4 given the sizing not being consistent with a unisex watch.

Cartier Men’s W10125U2 Must 21 Chronoscaph Stainless Steel and Black Rubber Chronograph Watch Review

I was looking for this model all around the internet and by going to different stores. I was able to save almost a 30% by doing the purchase through Amazon.

The only problem: As Amazon is not an authorized retailer, they dont give you the Stamped Certificate of Authenticity, which usually comes on the booklet or instructions book, and it contains an hologram from Cartier, The Serial Number and a stamp with date of the Store.

However I have already gone to a Cartier Dealer in my City and the Watch is 100% authentic and didnt have any problem with it. So, its not a big deal at the end… Many people on Ebay and other sites sell their watches with no box, instructions or warranty whatsoever.

I would also like to remark that Amazon offers the industry leading Amazon.com 2-Year Watch Warranty and does stand behind the item and will guarantee the authenticity of the watch.

If you are interested. I recommend it. I certainly looks great on my wrist!!!

Tissot Men’s T0015204705100 T-Touch Watch Review

Amazing watch, super useful and easy to access the features. Light, comfortable, and a fun conversation topic. I would say that the glow in the dark should be on the time marks, as it is just on the N-S-E-W on the bezel, and the hands, and it could be a bit brighter. The black coating seems to be rather tough, and even stays black when small scratches appear. The touch screen function only works with bare fingers, so you have to use your nose or tongue when you have gloves on. The minute hand is very precise, points directly to the minute mark on the minute, and moves to an intermediate position after 30 seconds, then moves onto the next minute mark. Buttons have a heavy push that is not going to be pressed accidentally. Locking mechanism is very secure, and does not chatter or rattle. I have not had it in sand or covered in mud, so I cannot testify to how it handles after being exposed to debris. My last tissot watch stayed on my wrist even being thrown in 10′ waves, and multiple bicycle crashes, and this mechanism appears to be an improvement on that design. The rubber band is comfortable, but best suited to those with round wrists, my wrist is a bit flat, so I have to wear the watch a bit looser than I would like. If you hike, bike or enjoy being outdoors, or get lost in a city when travelling, the compass is super useful, and the altimeter is a great tool to have for hiking or biking. The barometer is quite amazing, not only does it show the current barometric pressure, it indicates the current barometric pressure in relationship to the trends of the last 8 hours. The only thing that is mediocre is the thermometer. Understandably so, it reads the ambient temperature of the watch itself, so you have to take the watch off and let it sit for a decent bit before it reads the actual ambient temperature of the environment, instead of the temperature of your arm. Definitely a great purchase, and am very happy to be the owner of another fine Tissot product.

If you want to pay full price, go ahead, but this is a great deal on the real thing, with an Amazon two year warranty instead of Cartier. That is the ONLY difference. Also fast shipping. My dad let me pick out a graduation present for myself so along with another item, i wanted to get a nice watch. most of the watches i own have very small dials and are very classy and elegant. i went to a department store to check out some watches and this just looked amazing from the get-go. while the dial is bigger then what i already have, its not huge!!! the little subdials on the watch give it a cool vibe, and the diamond accents look beautiful with the light on them. and it matches my wedding ring and band!! my advice would be to go to a showroom to see it in person because its really not as big as it seems, and looks elegant enough to wear with a dress or even jeans. i love it! and i love that its like 0 cheaper then where i was going to buy it from! go for this watch!

I am your typical 24 year old entrepeneur, who happens to collect tags among other things. I saw this watch in store for 2090 after taxes. I bought it from amazon for 849$, and saved myself over 00, which i put into a tax free mutual fund and is up over 20%. I was obviously a little nervous, but i couldnt be happier with the purchase. The particular design of this watch is amazing and while most watched these days are larger and heavier, this watch is so comfortable and lightweight i barely feel it on my wrist, and it goes real nice with a black suit. Not flashy by any means, and thats what i like about it, not to mention to double fold over clasp which is awesome. TAG Heuer Men’s CAF2110.BA0809 2000 Aquaracer Automatic Chronograph Watch Review

I’ve had this automatic chronograph for a little over 3 years now. I wear it to work every day (I work in a restaurant) and really just beat the h*** out of it, bang it on hard surfaces, get it close to really hot heat sources, submerge it in water, you name it. It still looks really great despite a few nicks in the black part of the bezel. Every Saturday night I get home from work and clean it under running water with a mild soap and a tooth-brush, and it ends up looking almost new. It took a little while to get used to the feel of it on my wrist (Its heavier then any of my old Omegas I used to own) but after a week or two it felt like it was made for me. So after 3 years and much uncalled for abuse, it only loses a few minutes a month. The chronograph is exceptionally accurate, and very useful when cooking. Bezel still turns like new. Its very versatile and looks just as good with a suit as it does jeans and boots. My one and ONLY complaint is that it is becoming rather ubiquitous these days. I see on average 1 person a week with the same exact model (Black dial). I suppose its my fault for not having more unique taste in my timepieces, but its still rather annoying. Cant blame that one on Tag though.

Casio Pathfinder PAW1500 Altimeter Watch Review

This is a wonderful watch. It works pretty much as advertised; however, I have not used all of the feautures such as the altimeter. It is easy to see and use and the display really does look nice. My only complaint (a minor one)is the lack of a better band. The original wrist strap is kind of flimsy and narrow. I would have loved it if it were a wider more substantial band. Other than that it is a great watch for the price!! Ordered from Amazon with no problems and a great price!!!!
